Courtenay Daniels, President of Corporate Events Consulting, and Conference Director for international and national corporate meetings, is an expert logistics manager and protocol advisor. Since 1990, she has selected and managed conference venues for more than 150 events across the United States and internationally in over twenty five other countries around the world. She is skilled at creating special events to enhance program content, and, with imagination and a keen sense of the appropriate, can raise a budget-constrained program to an elegant level.
The meetings she has managed have involved the highest level of government of various countries as well as of executive corporate management, and have ranged in size from 20 to 3000 taking place in twenty six different countries all over the world. She was part of the inaugural team on the first Fortune Global Forum, in Singapore in 1995, and was Conference Manager on the following six Global Forums. Ms. Daniels is very good at Strategic Planning with her clients, helping to format and focus a new event, or refocus and energize a recurring event. She works closely with her clients to create an event that reflects the Corporate Culture of the client, and the client’s particular purpose for their event.
Ms. Daniels began her career at Bank of America as an international loan officer. She later joined Merrill Lynch in its newly formed Special Events Department, and among other international meetings, managed the Merrill Lynch presence at the annual IMF/World Bank Meetings in various countries around the world, and the Winter Olympics in Yugoslavia. Ms. Daniels received her MBA in International Finance, with an emphasis in International Diplomacy, from The American Graduate School of International Management.
Luke Daniels is Managing Director of CEC. Prior to joining CEC, Mr. Daniels had 16 years experience in the technology industry as a sales executive and consultant, working for market leaders such as Apple Computer, Tibco Software and the Boston Computer Exchange, Mr. Daniels permanently joined forces with CEC founder (and his sister) Courtenay Daniels in 2000, after working on a number of conferences with CEC.
In his role at CEC, he provides operational expertise in the areas of IT, client services, program coordination, event production and business development. Mr. Daniels has coordinated high-level client operations for CEC meetings and conferences for clients such as AMD, Microsoft, FORTUNE, Merrill Lynch, and Citibank. He is skilled at organizing and managing the many vendors supporting an event, creating a good working relationship that translates into high-quality efficient service and coordination for the client.
Previously, with the Boston Computer Exchange as senior broker, he was instrumental in taking the organization from start-up to an international presence, while during his tenure with Apple, he helped Apple Computer’s North Carolina division significantly improve sales revenue in the late 1990’s. Mr. Daniels divides his time between New York and Durham, NC, where he is a board member of Triangle Connections and the Durham Chamber of Commerce. |
